About The Club
The CyberRaptors club aims to increase the awareness of cybersecurity and uncover the hidden talents in the students for their future careers in cybersecurity. The CyberRaptors team at RTHS will be competing in the CyberPatriot’s National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, sponsored by the United States Air Force Association. In this competition, students are tasked with finding and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in network security, system administration, as well as the Windows and Unix operating systems. The students will be competing at local, national and international levels with other high school students.
More Club InfoWe were founded in 2021, and this will be our 2nd season participating in the CyberPatriot competition. This competition tests the security skills of students as they are provided Windows and Unix virtual images and are awarded points for locating and fixing critical security vulnerabilities in those images.
Additional Information about the program and the CyberPatriot competition can be found here. We spend the offseason working through cybersecurity challenges to prepare for competitions as well as competing in Capture The Flag (CTF) events, which are mini-Cybersecurity themed challenges, designed to expose students to new cybersecurity topics. We meet every Tuesday during lunch in Room 54, Gallery 5.
